Global Journey Summer Camp

Goals

The International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit is offering two camps for three weeks each. Starting July 17 to August 4 for this year. GJ will focus on preparing the kids to become Ambassadors of Peace and Citizens of the World. The participants will partake in many educational and fun activities including learning basic communication in several languages, indoor and outdoor games, field trips to area museums and different ethnic communities, arts & crafts, etiquette, food, music, and dance from different countries. The older youth will take lead roles in this activities. This is an exciting opportunity for the youth to socialize, interact, explode and learn about the world while they receive a reference for a higher education scholarship.

Local and international presenters will visit the camp and share their culture including an ethnic lunch. The activities are scheduled for Monday through Thursday from 10 am – 3 pm. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available. Approximately 30-40 children and 10-15 youth will be accepted in the program. IIMD is proud of having served the community in immigration, social services, and global education since 1919.
